Praxis New Orleans

Each character receives one of these two things in their snail mail from Stormy: an invitation and a ticket from Stormy.


  


 
Stormy walked around the parameter of the area that she had sealed off with velvet ropes and police tape to keep the prying eyes and ears back at the now abandoned Six-Flags Jazzland New Orleans theme park thinking to herself as she paced with her hands together in front of her, fingertips tapping together in the "prayer" position with the rhythm of her steps. Wow. So much had happened to her while she was away from home and now that she was back so much more had happened in the in-between that she didn't know about! How in the hell had this happened she wondered with an exclamation point inside of her head! Answers she would get she had no doubt about that. It was something that she had never failed at. Revenge for her City, revenge and justice for her friends......
 

 
She looked around the huge place saddened by the loneliness that it brought into her. Something died here and that something was big, huge, and important. It was important to get back as well, all of it. Damn so many things and in so any directions. This was where she had gained her fame as a Pack Killer. The Malkavian Antitrbu had made her haven here and only Stormy and Hell knew what was in it. Prince Wydow had sent her after the Sabbat member. Stormy would soon realize that this was only the first of many missions like this and her Brujah Cop Friend Vargas had helped her re-name these from suicide missions to bubble gum missions. With a name like bubble gum missions Stormy couldn't feel like she was expendable to her Prince as much as with the former name. I guess this part is why she was glad that she is Malvavian.
 
Stormy had news of the new arrivals in New Orleans and damn she was glad that the city was filling up with Camirilla Kindred again. This city needed those just like it needed a change.
 
Stormy had went down to The Alley to beckon Princes Jade and Wydow's attentions on her second night back in New Orleans. Thing was, they were nowhere to be found. This was going to need looking into. Maybe the new arrivals would have some information. Maybe not. She couldn't guess right off the bat.
 
Well, she would know soon. Maybe the marvelous place around her would reveal its secrets  as she fixes it up over the next few months. Who knows what this place knew for the past and the future. Stormy would be that the land itself knew things, too, if it could be convinced to give up its secrets, too. Some gentle coaxing might be the thing that convinces both places to do just that.
 

 
This was unconventional in the very least, having a preliminary meeting to contest Praxis in an abandoned amusement park or any amusement park at all but this was no conventional amusement park at all. Over the years all of the energy and love and all colors and ranges of emotion that had been poured into it was very valuable, maybe not to the normal eye but Stormy saw it clearly.
 

 
At the gate were what looked to be normal security guards wearing dark blue uniforms, armed, with thick black sunglasses even though dark had fallen over the city. They looked like hand-picked brutes that didn't know when to quit if they had to and that was exactly what they were - parts of Stormy's strong arm. Just the beginning parts of that if they were to be noticed. There was plenty more from where they come from and worse that them. Stormy had what she needed for sure. Nothing like emergencies to put things in perspective.
 
 

 

 
 


To spite the emergency stature of this new situation, Stormy had managed to give this place some class with the small re-vamps she had made within the park She had immediately picked Gotham City Hall Theater as the actual meeting place. She could use the stage to stand on with a makeshift podium set up with a microphone to give her speech to the crowd of new neonates in the city to lay out her plans thus far for the city. plus the cool thing about this place was not only did it have plenty of standing room but it was also located right at a famous tag-line from her brothers and sisters with spray-paint. The tag read "You're close". Stormy thought that it was a lost and found sign that would come in handy with the neonate should trouble arise. The other cool thing about it was that a very colorful helipad was nearby. Stormy had a thing for helipads!
 








When they arrived at the gate after gawking at the security guards and having their ticket and invitations looked over to make sure that Stormy really did invite them and not leaving any stragglers to roam over the park while she was speaking to them they were told to go over to the re-vamped photo booth just beyond the gate and push a button upon which action brought another ticket out of the machine that looked like this:










It had instructions on it. These three things, of course, were souvenirs of the city and of this night. Rarely do Kindred have the luxury and pleasures of getting them and Stormy thought it would be a nice, warm welcoming thing to do for the new neonates.

Heading down to an abandon theme park was not how Colette planned on spending her evening, but alas the invitation was far to intriguing.

She didn’t like being out this far. There were rumors about werewolves living just outside the city, but despite this she had arrived without a hitch. The guards let her in and she made her way to the photo booth to receive her souvenir. Colette didn’t know who had arranged this meeting, she was doubtful the Prince had really sent it, but if things went south they’d learn she wasn’t just some neonite. If they were respectable then they would be glad to have her on their side.

Colette would see more of Stormy's strong arms on her way to the roped off and highly redecorated to be "more becoming" Gotham City stage area where she would see a very casual but nicely dressed Stormy Rain Malkin standing there patiently awaiting her guests. She smiled when she recognized Colette. 

With a slight smile, a welcoming one, she addressed her, "Thank you for accepting my invitation. Your Prince and City needs you."

Stormy politely awaited her reply while escorting her the rest of the way into the roped off area. (red velvet ropes + outer police tape)

She bowed to the Prince as she took in her words. New Orleans needing help, what else was new. Colette had seen a lot threaten the city in her time. Werewolves, mages, Setites, Sabbat, and their corporate friends even the wolves despised. Even when the former prince took in that unbonded Tremere.

She had learned much of her city, and now it seemed it was time for it to be put to use. For some reason, as Colette had realized some time ago, Daughters like herself were not taken very seriously aside from as party entertainment. That would change, at least for her and hopefully her childer as well.

With a smile she asked, “What threatens our great city this time my lady.”

Marie DeVaslla is holding the paper in her hand looking at it finding the place she got the message from the mail. She wandered into the unknown strange place. Kevin keeping an eye on Marie making sure she is ok. Marie looked to Kevin, "Are we at the right place?" The group followed closely getting near to their meeting place.

Kevin squeezes Marie ever more tightly, not hard, just firm in case anyone try to steal her away or otherwise harm her. He nods to her question, "Yes," he says softly first to her then looking around at the other two with them, "It is the right place, although I don't know why we would be summoned ..... Here." The last word said as if it was a proper name.

Caprice (pic coming soon) jumped around after she had freshened her (((MASK OF 1000 FACES OBFUSCATE #3))) and hoped it worked.......

......it couldn't have worked better! She had, for the Masquerade's Sake, at least at the gate, summoned the form of Louis de Pointe du Lac or "Louie!" This always worked and hey, part of the time earned her some money, too, as his impersonator! 

Caprice looked at Marie and smiled as she swirled about, "Chicke, chicke, tootse! WE'RE HEEEEERE!"

Marie leans into Kevin's embrace, she giggled at Caprice's looks, "Hey you did good, we are her now. What now ?" She looked around trying to find the clue to where to meet someone important to introduce themselves before going out somewhere. "Is that the place here?" Marie points to the building next to the group.

"Hmmm. The Officers said photo booth," he gently took her hand and led her along to the photo booth where they pulled out the tickets that looked like this with the instructions:



Caprice overly happily did the same.  "Let's go! Let's go! Gotham City it is!"

She looks over the tickets and looked at the gate. " I think we all go there through the gate to enter the building. Follow me." Marie guides them through the gate with the ticket showing it that they do have a pass to go through it. "Hopefully we are at the right place."

Kevin follows and so does Caprice but instead of walking Caprice is skipping down the lane with them. Wow wasn't that just perfect?! A scene right out of reality of memory at the gates of Jazzland! (BRAVO)

They come to Gotham City Hall where Stormy is standing speaking with a classy lady in introduction but she politely bows out of that conversation, just for now and coming back to it later, to meet the other new kids on the block, so to say. She greets them with a smile. "Thank you so much, all of you, for accepting my invitation here tonight." She guided them into the standing area where Colette was already standing and speaking with the Prince.

Marie follows Stormy with the group and waited politely for their next turn to meet with the Prince. She squeezed Kevin's hand softly and smiled to him. "Hope it goes well tonight." She then looks to Caprice being hyper tonight jumping all around getting all so excited.

Well, Caprice is just being Caprice the Addict Nosferatu. Besides, she knew that she was safe, especially here. It wasn't a dis to her Prince Stormy or anything it was simply the way it was for her. The opiates had their way with her, too, just like the laced blood. She had fed first, like a good little Nosferatu does. She does answer Marie, as always, "Yes! Me too."

Kevin smiled and patted Marie's hand in comfort, "It will, I promise," then smiled at her lovingly.

Stormy had already acknowledged them and was awaiting their response:
" She greets them with a smile. "Thank you so much, all of you, for accepting my invitation here tonight." She guided them into the standing area where Colette was already standing and speaking with the Prince."

Marie looks to Stormy, "Hi, My name is Marie DeVaslla, of the clan Toreador. Pleased to meet you Prince." Marie nods and bows to her. Marie waits politely to let them introduce themselves to the Prince.

Stormy grins widely as she acknowledges the bow of respect, "Of Clan toreador? Welcome to all four of you."

Yes, four of them. Gangrel the Gargoyle had been traveling from bush to bush, rock to rock, shadow to shadow to get where they could openly walk. How he envied them at times! He was just entering the City Hall area behind Kevin and promptly regained his true form and bowed deeply to the Prince, "Clan Gargoyle at your highest service, my Prince!"

"Kevin Giovanni, Clan Giovanni, pledging my Clan's allegiance to you, Prince Stormy, in this fair City," his voice was gentle, yet commanding all at the same time. Kevin had a way about himself that he could transform any situation from bad to good, not that this was bad, it wasn't. He also bowed deeply with his words.

Caprice suddenly jumps out in front of Marie, Kevin, and Gangrel, not to be rude or anything. She just has to move a lot. She bowed as soon as she did, "Caprice, Clan Nosferatu, my Prince!"

Stormy acknowledged all four of them greatly appreciative of their answering her invitation and their presence. She looked over to Caprice, "Oh yes, Former Princes Black Jade and Wydow told me of how much your Clan Nosferatu had done for them and for the safety of the City and all who dwell within her! I am extremely grateful for your Clan's allegiance and support! Nice job!"

Stormy turns back to Marie smiling awaiting her answer to her Clan.

Marie beams proudly how they introduced themselves to the Prince. " I am at great service to serve you from my clan Toreador. I am honored to be in the city of New Orleans where the fun are. Just to be ourselves and to help others in need. " Marie nods in respect. She moves to stand close to Kevin.

Colette looked around at the assorted characters. She had not seen this variety of clans before. She was cautious of the Giovanni, she had heard some disturbing stories about that clan in regards to their treatment of spirits. She was glad to see a Toreador as well a Malkavian as her bloodline was a sort combination between the two. She smiled to herself thinking that this was going to be an interesting start to an adventure.

Kevin hugs Marie tightly to him and wonders if he is in love with Marie or not. Maybe he shouldn't know right now. Odd thing for a Giovanni to be thinking at a time like meeting the Prince! He smiled a little to himself as he held her again.


Stormy smiles at Marie, "I am in complete agreement with your philosophy and am very glad to have Clan Toreador within the City. You," she said looking around happily at her Kindred, "all of you have vital roles to play within these walls of New Orleans. We must all join together to solve Her woes!" She then directs the other four into Colette's vicinity so that they could now talk as a group. 


She does look around to see one missing Kindred but was not overly worried yet. 


"So, Colette, as I was saying," now including all of them in the process of conversation, "former Princes Black Jade (East New Orleans) and Wydow (West New Orleans) of Clan toreador are missing. And there has been a fire as of last night until almost dawn this AM. I have these things to show you, the first of them being this copy of my official NOPD report on the incident and these news articles:

Colette looked at the stories concerned. A chaotic rhythm  played in her head as she took in the articles, but she pushed it back and responded regardless.

"My Prince this is very disturbing, and I feel there is likely a connection to our current predicament.  I would, however,  advise caution when dealing with the NOPD. Somehow at some point the masquerade was breached and the NOPD created a special task force specifically to hunt the kindered. There were rumors a rouge ghoul had a hand in its creation. I do not know if this group is still functional, but we all should still be cautious nonetheless."

"Dear Colette, I would agree except that I have intercepted that group and I am hunting down that ghoul. I am badge #55555." She pulled out her NOPD badge. "I am counter-moving them."

Howard picked up the invitation once again as he had done at least 100 times since receiving it. He carefully folded it and placed it in his pocket. He sighed and looked into the mirror. "50 years alone and in solitude." He looked around his dated but comforting surroundings. "No politics, no following the orders of another, I am out of their game... Still I grow restless." Grabbing his car keys, Howard give himself one final look in the mirror and straightened up. The rigidity of his days as a soldier returning to him as it they were only yesterday, though it had been more than a century since he had served. "It is time that we return to the front lines Capitan," he said to the face starting back at him from the mirror. And with that he turned on his heal and headed for the door.



He opened his garage and fired up his dearest friend. His 1937 Jaguar SS 100 Roadster, or Millie as he referred to it, roared to life. He slowly pulled the car out of the garage, stepped out and closed the garage door. Looking up at the clouds in the night sky Howard said to himself "Excellent! No rain, I can ride with the top down." With a spring in his step he jumped back into the car and headed to his destination. Driving Millie was one of the few things left he still truly enjoyed.




The drive wasn't nearly long enough for Howard, they never were. He took time to find an area where Millie could safely wait for him. He exited the car and straightened himself up. Retrieving the invitation from his pocket he approached the guards waiting at the booth. As he handed the invitation over to them he said "Gentleman, I believe that I am expected."
